Our story
Why I Started Raising Ants
I have always been fascinated by nature and the small creatures that make it up. My interest in ants began thanks to my curiosity while spending time outside observing their behavior. But it was also reading the novel Les Fourmis by Bernard Werber that captivated me and made me want to learn more about these incredible insects. Their social organization, their ability to collaborate and build complex structures with so little means amazed me. It was this curiosity that pushed me to start breeding ants.
While observing my first colony, I discovered a miniature world of incredible richness. Seeing a queen lay her first eggs, following the development of the larvae and observing the workers taking care of the colony gave me immense pleasure. To provide them with a suitable habitat, I first experimented with different materials: I made plaster nests, used test tubes and even tried plastic structures. However, none of these systems gave me complete satisfaction.
This is how I started designing my own nests. Thanks to 3D printing, I was able to experiment with different structures, test new designs and continually improve my creations to provide ants with habitats adapted to their lifestyle. Each species has different needs in terms of humidity, space and structure, so I enjoyed adjusting my models based on my observations.
Over time, this passion has turned into a real project. The idea of helping other enthusiasts to offer the best possible conditions to their colonies motivated me to share my creations. Today, my goal is to offer scalable, modular nests adapted to beginners as well as experienced breeders, while promoting the discovery and learning around these incredible insects.
Raising ants is more than just a hobby. It’s an immersion into a miniature world, a lesson in patience, and a unique way to reconnect with nature. And for me, it’s just the beginning of a great adventure.
